I recently purchased this upper and it arrived well packed and with no blemishes. For what it’s worth I opted to break it in the “lengthy way” and today I finally had the chance to put it to the test. It’s shooting sub MOA and I was also able to reach out to targets at 400 yards in a crosswind where we could not with the carbines that we had on hand. Thank You to Chris and the team at CBC. I’ll definitely be buying from them again.

Just by the looks of this upper makes it worth the wait 3-4 week wait. Although I haven’t put rounds through it yet, it still looks and feels great. Its a nice and solid build and I cant wait to break it in. The only thing I am concerned about is I have a very hard time getting it to line up with my Stag Arms Lower. I literally have to hammer in the front pin. By no means am I blaming the upper, because it could very well be the lower, I’m just pointing out the only flaw I was able to find. I’ll definitely be buying more CBCI Industries products in the future.

So, I finally got to take this bad boy out to the range today just for a basic function test. This was my first AR “build” as I was mating this upper with an Aero Precision lower with all of the Magpul furniture in OD green. Just put in a BCG and charging handle, and I was good to go. I was not looking for accuracy nor was I trying to zero my MBUS, I just wanted to make sure everything was functioning the way that it was supposed to. So, one of the first tests that I did was to see if the bolt would lock back after the last round was fired. So, I put one round of Hornady .223 55 grain steel match in a hex mag, pmag and USGI mag to see what it would do. The bolt would not lock back on all three rounds in all three magazines. Tried it again with the same three magazines, same result. I’m thinking buffer and spring or gas block may not have been aligned properly. So I tried some Remington .223 64 grain SP, and it ran like a top with the bolt locking back on the last round. No FTF or FTE with either the Remington or Hornady. I may have just needed to break the darn thing in since after a few more rounds, the bolt would eventually lock back with the Hornady ammo. For the price and quality of the upper, you can’t beat it. Even though it took a little bit longer than anticipated to have the upper sent to me, mix-up on the twist rate, Tomi offered great service and communication. Now if only you had an upper available in 6.5 Grendel (my next build), I would buy again.

They shipped it out in less than a week, (was told 4-6 I think.) Arrived in great condition, no dings or scratches, everything was properly lined up. I ordered a different muzzle break and they installed that for me as per my request. First time I took it out all I had was Hornaday 55gr v-max and 62gr M855 (not the best fit I know.) After a good clean and lube I started breaking the barrel in… It seemed to be throwing the lighter stuff all over you place and wasn’t properly cycling, so I went home and grabbed some 69 and 77 gr match grade ammo and everything started to run flawlessly, and with great accuracy. Ringing 10″ plates at 600 yards consistently now. I didn’t come back to this sight to write a review, I came shopping for my 300 blk upper. Great work guys.

I ordered this about a year ago, the shipping nearly three months, and I received the wrong twist barrel(ordered 1:8, received 1:9). Was told they didn’t have any at the time, and instead of wait another few months I would just run it how it is. I am also having a problem with cycling in 55gr 223 ammo, so it seems I just need to buy some better ammo to get everything work well. I was pretty bummed about getting the wrong barrel, but it’s still excellently built and very good to look at, at a great price. I will most likely buy more parts from these folks
